Beach Holiday: Ishigaki Adventure

Itinerary - 4 Days

1. Day 1

   Location

   Ishigaki Island

   Hotel

   ANA Intercontinental Ishigaki

   Let's head way down south to the sub-tropical Okinawa.
   Depart from either Osaka (Kansai international) or Tokyo (Haneda) to Ishigaki. Don't forget your sun cream!
   
   Suggested routes:
   From Kansai
   Depart: Kansai at 09:55 / arrive Ishigaki at 12:40
   
   From Haneda
   Depart: Haneda at 11:15 / arrive Ishigaki at 14:30

   

2. Day 2

   Location

   Ishigaki Island

   Hotel

   ANA Intercontinental Ishigaki

   Today you are free to explore Ishigaki.
   
   Our recommendation:
   If diving is your thing, there are several bilingual tour operators on the island that will be able to help you out, and shops to rent gear. Prices are pretty similar amongst the operators, so its hard to go wrong. Trips out on boats, kayaks or to go snorkelling are also readily available.
   
   If you're not wanting to get out in the water or it's just not the season for it, you can still admire the views. There are walking trails through the palm forests and viewing platforms in Cape Tamatori where you can check out the scenery.
   
   After a long day of walking or snorkelling (or let's face it, a long day of kicking back and enjoying yourself), Ishigaki has a lot to offer in the way of cuisine, particularly Ishigaki beef or soba. If you fancy a drink, the Okinawans are very good at this too, so feel free to wander around and find a local bar.

   

3. Day 3

   Location

   Ishigaki Island

   Hotel

   ANA Intercontinental Ishigaki

   Today too, you are free to explore.
   
   If you came here purely for the diving or to relax, feel free to get to it!
   
   Our suggestion:
   Go island hopping and head to Iriomote Island. Iriomote's National Park is spectacular, with abundant nature everywhere the eye can see. Again, hiking, kayaking diving, boat tours and snorkelling are popular options, as is just heading to the beach!
   if you're looking to do something other than snorkelling, head to Taketomi Island and check out a beautifully preserved village which can be done at a leisurely pace although bicycles can also be rented.

   

4. Day 4

   Unfortunately today you have to leave your island paradise. We hope you have enjoyed your time here and have had an opportunity to relax and unwind, and experience a bit of Japan quite unlike any other. You're welcome back anytime!
   
   Check out from your hotel and head back to Osaka or Tokyo.
